Update on Project New Me

I know that I have not posted anything for quite awhile and it has been even longer since I did a "Project New Me" update. While Project New Me has still been in effect even though I have not updated in a while.

About two weeks ago I actually started a phase (ie diet). My husband has been doing Medifast for the 2 months or so and I finally decided to try it out too. Day 1 of Medifast was on 9/2/13. And I weighed in at 175lbs. I also took my body measurements (which are listed down below). I will be trying to take this every month to track my process so I will not do this again until 10/2.

My Measurements at the start of Medifast:
Upper Arms: 14.0 in
Chest: 35.0 in
Waist: 37.0 in
Hips: 45.0 in
Thighs: 27.0 in

After 2 weeks of being on plan I have drop 10 LBS!!!!! And I feel great about it. I have actually started to have people tell me that they can see a difference!!!! I am so excited about getting myself into a healthier body. The package food from Medifast is actually not all the bad. I was not sure that I was really going to like any of it and there have been things that I will not order again. Some of favorites are the French Vanilla Shakes, the S'more Crunch bar and the Caramel Crunch bar. This plan has also forced me to start cooking dinner every night. Which I am actually finding that I enjoy more then I thought I would. We would cook dinner sometime but mostly it consisted of throwing something on the grill or order in. My husband and I have tried out several different recipes and I think I am going to start putting some of our favorites on a page here on the blog.

Starting weight on Project New Me: 185 lbs
Current weight: 165 lbs
Goal weight: 135 lbs (this has been updated)

So here are my goals:
1. Drop 5 lbs
2. Work out every day even if it only for 10 minutes {I am not allowed to work out yet on this new plan}
3. Drop 10 lbs
4. Follow my diet
5. Drop 15 lbs
6. Don't cheat, ie no candy
7. Drop 20 lbs
8. Drop 25 lbs
9. Drop 30 lbs
10. Drop 35 lbs
11. Drop 40 lbs
12. Drop 45 lbs
13. Drop 50 lbs

Until next time.

Update on Project New Me

Project New Me is going pretty well. I had been down 12 lbs, but I had a back slide at Easter. My family came in and I did not pay attention to what I was eating and I put 6 lbs back on. That was really discouraging, especially because it was completely my fault. But I buckled down with my diet and started exercising and I drop 5 lbs since Easter. So that brings my total weight loss to 11 lbs. Which means that I get to mark another goal off my list. YEAH ME!!

I am the worst self motivator, so I am trying some new things to help myself succeed. I have added an alarm to my phone to reminder to exercise everyday. I have added a second alarm to try to get myself to go to bed at a decent time. And I still have my signs around my house.

Starting weight: 185 lbs
Current weight: 174 lbs
Goal weight: 145 lbs

So here are my goals:
1. Drop 5 lbs
2. Work out every day even if it only for 10 minutes (Number of days in a row of working out: 1)
3. Drop 10 lbs
4. Follow my diet
5. Drop 15 lbs
6. Don't cheat, ie no candy
7. Drop 20 lbs
8. Drop 25 lbs
9. Drop 30 lbs

Project New Me Continues

I was very excited this weekend when I step on the scale at in was below 180.  It was a big step for me.  Today I was noticing that my pants were much looser, to the point that I kept having to pull them up.  I also had a sweater on that I have had for a long time and it looked really big on me.  I still need to start exercising. I went to the doctor a few weeks ago and found our that my thyroid is not functioning properly and was put on medication to help (I will do a separate post about it).  I am finally starting to get some energy, but I am so busy at work that I don't get home until 7 at night most nights.  At that point I need to make dinner and try to spent so time with Ri before she goes to bed.  And this past weekend I got sick to the point that I was on the couch for 2 days.  But I am sticking with my diet and the pounds are coming off.  Not only that but I got to strike through one of goals as I have reached it.  And I am 2 lbs from reaching the another. YEAH ME!!

Project New Me update

When I first started this project I was 185, I didn't do so well for a couple of weeks and went up to 187.  I am proud to say that as of Monday I have turned the corner.  I went to see my doctor and got back on the diet plan that I had lost 20 lbs on last year.  This week alone I have dropped 4 lbs, SINCE MONDAY!!  YEAH ME!!!

I am taking my lunch to work, I even turned down the crab wontons that Kyle offered me for dinner tonight.  Instead I had a salmon lean cruise meal.  And it was really good.

I still need to work out more to help boost my weight loss.  It is very hard for my to motivate myself at 7 at night when I have been at work for 11 hours.  But my goal to to keep trying and not to get discouraged.

Starting weight: 185 lbs
Current weight: 183 lbs

Finding my motivation

I am trying to set myself up to succeed this time with my weight loss.  I have spent the evening trolling the internet and pinterest looking for exercises that I will be able to do at home when Riley is around. I am making sheet to hang around my house to remind that exercise does need to take forever and that I can do small things while doing other things and get moving a bit everyday.

I have one sheet that I am going to hang in my bathroom that are things that I can do while brushing my teeth and getting ready in the morning.

Another is going to hanging near my TV for things that I can do while watching TV, during commercials  and playing with Riley.

And a third one will hang in my kitchen for things I can do while making dinner..

After I print all of these out I am going to laminate them so they won't get ruin or ripped by Riley.

Starting weight: 185 lbs
Current weight: 187 lbs
Goal weight: 145 lbs

So here are my goals:
1. Drop 5 lbs
2. Work out every day even if it only for 10 minutes (Number of days in a row of working out: 1)

Weight loss updated

I have reached the 20lb mark.  People are really noticing now that I have lost weight.  I have hit a plateau right now.  But I have started to add some exercise into the mix and not just the diet.  So I am hoping to start seeing results again.  I am going to Zumba once a week.  Last week was my first and while it was alot of fun I thought I might die by the end of it.

So wish me luck.

Another Weight loss update

On Saturday I went in to get my B-12 shot and I have now lost 12lbs.
I have reach the point where people are starting to notice that I have lost weight.  In 1 day I had 3 different people tell me that I looked like I lost weight.  That felt really good.  I am very impressed with myself that I have been following this so well.  I was not sure if I could do it.  But now that I am see big results I want to stick with it even more. :)

Weight Loss Update

So I have not done a weight loss update in awhile.  I have now moved on to plan C since starting this blog.  But I think I found the one.  I am now under the care of a doctor following a rather strict diet plan.  My husband has a friend  that started on this plan I think about 6-8 months ago and saw great results, he has since stopped and is doing something different.  But before that he got Kyle on it.  Kyle has lost 40lbs since starting in March.  I was already kinda following the plan because Kyle was on it so we had changed a but of what we were buying at the grocery store.  So 3 weeks ago I went to see this doctor and got on the plan fully.

The plan does like this you cut out as much sugar from your diet as possible.  And the things you do eat you want to have the lowest sugar possible.  You get to pick form several choices for each meal and can have as may veggies as you want as snacks throughout the day.  Water is also a big part, you drink at least 2 liters of it a day and can have any diet soda too.

Here is an explain of a day meals:
Breakfast: 1c corn flakes with 1/2c skim milk and 1/2c orange juice
Lunch: Small tossed salad with light dressing, a piece of light bread and choice of fruit
Dinner: 1/4 broiled hamburger, 1/2c mashed potatoes, and 1/2c green vegetables

You only eat fruit if it on your choice of meal (ie lunch choice above).  You also take an appetite suppressant an hour after breakfast.  And every 2 weeks you go in to see the doctor and get a B-12 shot.

What is good about this program is that it helps you to learn a better way to eat and how to make healthier choices in food.  It just becomes a way of life.  In 3 weeks I have lost 8lbs and when I started I didn't think that I would follow it, but it been pretty easy to do.

Weight Loss plan update

So I started some new things on Monday and thought I would do a quick update about how it is going.  Out of the 5 days since I put my new plan into effect I have walked on three of them, I have only done extra exercising with my daugther on 2.  I have cut back a bit on my snacking, but my sweet tooth is proving to my downfall.  I have also increased my water intake but not completely to where I want it.  So if I was grading myself I would give myself a C+. I am not giving up yet though.

New weight loss plan

So I have not done much in the way of lossing weight or getting ready to run in a marathon. And I hit a bot of rock bottom and have finally realized that I really need to loss some weight.  I am at an all time high on my weight, my joints have started bothering me, and I got winded the other day walking up the stairs.  I am not even 30 yet, this is a big problem.

So as of yesterday, I am going to start walking every day at work and am increasing the amount of water that I drink, and limiting my snacking.  I am also going to start working out with my daugther (ie taking her for walks, dancing with her, actively playing with her) more than I have been.  I am hoping that some of these things will help me to drop some pounds and motivate me to move even more.

Journey to 13.1 miles

So I am a bit late with a New Years Resolution but I find that since the arrival of my beautiful 14 month old daugther I am having a hard time being on tine for anythign.  So here it is... my goal is to finish a half marathon.  If my training goes well maybe even a full marathon.  I am hopeful that this will be a year of great changes for myself and my daugther.  If have come across this blog and don't know my daugther's story look for a separate entry for her story, for she has her own interesting story to tell.  So back to me and my journey.  Since I know myself and have tried before to set a goal of losting weight and failed.  I have decieded instead to set some specific goals.

Goal 1: Be able to run unstop for 1 mile.
Goal 2: Be able to run unstop for 3 miles
Goal 3: Run/exericse 3 days of week
Goal 4: Start marathon training
Ultimate Goal: To finish a race

So there we are and lets hop I can follow throught on this.  Wish me luck.
